Build Your Department through Legal, Ethical, and Science-Based Understanding of Your People.
How Does It Work?
It starts with evidence-based data.
PSP scours the globe, searching for new advances linked to assessment, intervention, and prevention services for First Responders. We bring you the breakthrough tools and services you need to strengthen, if not transform, your Department.

Observable characteristics
can be misleading.
Imagine people are like icebergs. There are parts of us everyone can see at work, like our skills, experience, and education. But deeper parts may not be so obvious, like our way of thinking,
how we behave, and what drives us. These hidden parts are just as important because they shape everything visible above the surface. PSP's assessments help you get to know candidates below the surface, before and after the hire.
Discover data that predicts
future success.
Wherever possible, we use "job fit" analysis in our assessments to evaluate the alignment between individuals and your Department's culture, providing objective measures of a person's aptitudes, abilities, and motivations in relation to specific role requirements.

Are PSP Assessments Legal?

PSP professionals adhere to the same legal standards our Departments follow. Our assessments and interventions go beyond the guidelines and standards established by the EEOC, DOL, ADA, and other government and professional agencies.
The legal and professional guidelines we abide by ensure that our assessments and services are suitable for making Public Safety workforce decisions by minimizing bias and promoting fairness across all groups.
To help minimize bias in selection, we recommend that pre-offer assessments contribute no more than one-third to the final hiring decision, with similar weight given to other components of the selection process (e.g., interviews, background checks, reference letters).
Fair and unbiased practices provide an equal opportunity for all candidates to demonstrate their abilities and/or benefit from interventions, thus ensuring fair treatment and consideration in all of the services we provide.
The studies we reviewed to determine "fairness" and "best practices" for our services involved thousands of people of diverse ages, genders, and ethnicities. These studies confirm that our work does not unfairly impact employment and/or other decisions for any individual or for your Department as a whole.
